CAMP BECKENBAUER

CAMP BECKENBAUER was an independent platform for decision makers from sports, business and society committed to shaping the future of global sports. CAMP BECKENBAUER has evolved from a yearly sports summit into a year-round project focusing on the most pressing issues in sports and associated areas in business, the media and politics. With this, CAMP BECKENBAUER aimed to evoke new ways of thinking, to develop goal-oriented solutions and, most importantly, to trigger action and change.

CAMP BECKENBAUER 2015 Review Video:

CAMP BECKENBAUER strongly believed that sustainable change in the world of sports is only achievable if today’s decision makers are brought together with the next generation of influential thinkers. This is why  next. and franz. have been created. Both were key elements of the year-round project CAMP BECKENBAUER.

A sustainable scientific basis was decisive for the success of CAMP BECKENBAUER. Therefore, CAMP BECKENBAUER set up an assistant professorship and formed a dedicated Competence Team under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sascha L. Schmidt at the Center for Sports and Management at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Professor and Competence Team ensured that the topics of CAMP BECKENBAUER were systematically defined and the results were rigorously evaluated. In parallel to studies and other scientific work, the WHU team organized franz. (www.franzideas.com) and conducted next. once a year.
