Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and WHU sign cooperation agreement

Düsseldorf/Würzburg. WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation have signed a cooperation agreement. The central object of the cooperation is the scientific support of the further development of the foundation through the Center for Sports and Management of WHU in Düsseldorf.

The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation (DNF) was established in 2005 by its founder, Dirk Nowitzki, with the aim of helping children and young people to make the most of their opportunities and to recognise and foster their potential. Through sports and games they shall experience community and playfully develop their skills. In order to achieve this goal in the long term, DNF wants to further develop its content and strategy in the upcoming months. The CSM will accompany this process scientifically and thus will contribute to setting up the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation for the future.

Silke Mayer, Chairwoman of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation: "We are very pleased that, through our cooperation with the Center for Sports and Management, we have gained one of Europe's leading business schools as a partner to actively boost the further development of our foundation and to provide scientific support."

Prof. Dr. Sascha L. Schmidt, Director Center for Sports and Management: "The scientific support of the further development of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation is a highly exciting task, which we look forward to with great pleasure. We are proud to be working together with the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation on a long-term basis and to be able to experience the further development up close and accompany it scientifically."
